The following recipe starts with vodka as a base and adds juniper berries, which makes this recipe technically a gin. However, you could easily infuse any liquor with just about any edible herbs and flowers for Beltane!
Open the bottle of vodka and, using a funnel, pour in the juniper berries.
Seal the bottle and shake it gently, turning it upside down for a few moments so some of the berries sink to the bottom. They will rise back up to the top so don’t stress too much about getting them to stay down.
Leave the bottle in a cool, dark place for 24 hours.
Using a funnel, add your other herbs and/or flowers to the bottle.
Seal the bottle and shake it gently.
Leave the bottle in a cool, dark place for another 12 hours.
Strain the gin into a new bottle or other container, making sure to remove all of the herbs and berries. Enjoy!
